The parliament and the Council of the country has prepared a number of measures in the light of Brexit in March 2019.

The Council approved the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation amending the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 5 September 2008 implementing certain provisions relating to the administrative formalities provided for by the law of 29 August 2008 on the free movement of persons and immigration.

On 8 February 2018 bill 7406 on the modalities of the UK and Nothern Ireland citizens was deposed in the parliament. The bill particularly regards the modalities of their employment status in the public sector.
